Ethiopia Mr. Mengeche Derso Espresso

FRESH LOT ALERT! Another from Ethiopia. We were very lucky and proud to be able to secure a couple of exceptional individual farmer lots this year. This will be our second to release from a new to us farmer named Mr. Mengeche Derso. 

Mr. Mengeche is farming in the Gedeo region in Yirgacheffe. He is well known for producing exceptional coffee on his 15 hectares of land which is large by the standards of the area where average land size is 4 hectares. Mr. Mengeche has 12 children, four of which work on the farm with him. Farmers in the area usually create natural fertiliser meaning this coffee is organic without certification. Mr. Mengeche’s coffee is so coveted, it has seen special mention from Governement Organisations. No mean feat in the birthplace of coffee.

The coffee itself was our favourite on the table this year. Lots of fresh peach with fresh hibiscus and cooked raspberry flavours. Complex acidity and candy sweetness. We hope that you are as excited to taste this coffee as we are!
